ALL OR NOTHING: Inter's Javier Zanetti competes with Bayern's Bastian Schweinsteiger during the first-leg

MUNICH: Bayern Munich striker Miroslav Klose warns champions Inter Milan to expect a difficult evening when they meet in the Champions League last-16 return-leg clash at Allianz Arena on Wednesday (3.45am).

Munich put recent troubles behind them on Saturday by thumping Hamburg 6-0 in the Bundesliga — a result which led to the sacking of visiting manager Armin Veh.

Klose believes Bayern can increase the pressure on the Nezazzurri, who are a goal down on aggregate after losing the first-leg 1-0 at San Siro.

"Against Inter we will have to play like we did against Hamburg," Klose told Sky Sports.

"We have an advantage to defend, but we will try to score instantly so we can put more of a gap between us and them."

Bayern manager Louis van Gaal, who will leave Bayern at the end of the season, believes his side's comprehensive defeat of Hamburg was good for preparation against Inter.

"Who'd have thought it? But that's football. Hamburg played well at the start and caused us some problems. Fortunately, we didn't go a goal behind. The goals set us free mentally," he said.

"Our fans are unbelievable, they cheered us on the whole way through. I think that's exceptional, I'm pleased, and I'm delighted we put on a show.

"That also showed how well we're capable of playing, and it was a very good way to prepare for Inter."

Bayern captain Philipp Lahm expressed his delight at the thrashing of Hamburg as they ended their three-game winless streak in style.

Arjen Robben was the hero with a hattrick to ensure the Bavarians stay in sight of a top-three finish in the league.

The other goals were scored by Franck Ribery, Thomas Muller and an own goal by Heiko Westermann.

"We've taken the first step, because we're closer to the Champions League places now," said the 27-year-old.

Napoli back in business after win at Parma

PARMA: Marek Hamsik, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Christian Maggio gave Napoli a 3-1 come-from-behind win over 10-man Parma at Ennio Tardini Stadium this morning.

Raffaele Palladino (pic) opened the scoring in the 29th minute for the hosts but Napoli hit back with goals by Hamsik (52nd), Lavezzi (58th) and Maggio (87th) to give the visitors full points.

Argentina striker Lavezzi put in a superb performance to help the Partenopei in this win but he was quick to point out that it was the team's performance that led to victory.

"I'm not the one who deserves all the credit, but it's the team that deserve the credit. We never stopped fighting and did our utmost to bring home the full three points," Lavezzi told Corriere dello Sport.

"We didn't put in a good performance in the first-half, but we responded well after the interval. We have the quality to stay among the top teams in the standings and we will fight until the end to achieve our goals."

Lavezzi also commented on his return to the starting line-up after suspension.

"I'm very pleased to be back in the line-up. Hopefully, I won't make any mistakes again as I want to be important for the team," he said.

Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon says he is still shocked at how well the team continued to play despite being down at one stage.

Even though there are only nine matches to be played until the end of the season, Bigon believes Napoli are united in wanting to win the Scudetto.

"The season is long, and there are many points available, but this was a key match after the 3-0 loss to AC Milan away in the last match, as things went according to plan," he told Sportal.

"This team continue to provide surprises, and it is a united group as everyone is working hard towards one goal. The players know what they want, and they demonstrated this, as they didn't want to lose."

Napoli moved back into third position in the standings on 56 points, one point behind second-placed defending champions Inter Milan.

Milan are on top with 62 points.
